My love of painting started in College when my field of study was Costume Design.  Part of my studies involved painting a picture of what I was designing. Over the decades I stretched my artistic abilities to include pottery, mosaic tile pictures and papier-mache projects.

In 1996 my serious interest in oil painting started by attending classes and workshops in Carson City, Nevada and later I added watercolor painting to my activities.

The use of a palette knife caught my interest in 2001. I attended a 3 day workshop with Hope Stevenson, of Mendicino, CA, in 2007, to help perfect my use of the palette knife.

My first trip to Hawaii was in 1962.  I immediately felt the “Aloha Spirit” on that first trip to the Islands.  Over the years we have made numerous trips to Hawaii. When my Husband and I were looking for a place for our retirement, we purchased a home in Kailua-Kona, HI in 2008.

I have been painting with the West Hawaii Plein Air Painters since March of 2009.  In May 2010 I joined the Kona Arts Center, in Kainaliu. I am also a member of the Blue Sea Artisans in Kona International Market and Kailua Village Artist.
Since moving to Hawaii I have starting making Hawaii lei’s.  These are crocheted in a variety of color combinations.
